Homemade Butterfinger Candy
Oh my goodness these are wonderful! If you love the peanut butter chocolate combination, you will definitely love these! I made several batches of these during Christmas. I like to have them on hand for the family to eat during the holidays and I also packaged them up into plastic gift bags for giving. They are easy to make and if you are looking to make a homemade chocolate candy for your valentine, these would certainly fit the bill.
Ingredients:
1 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup melted margarine (1 stick)
1 family size box Wheat Thin crackers
1 pkg. chocolate almond bark
Directions:
Mix peanut butter, powdered sugar, and melted butter together in a bowl. Stir until smooth.
Place a dollop of the peanut butter mixture on each cracker (save half for the tops).
Then place a cracker on the top, pressing down gently to make little peanut butter/cracker sandwiches.
Break up the almond bark into a microwave safe bowl and follow the directions on the package to melt.
Stir until smooth, then begin to dip the peanut butter crackers.
Place the chocolate covered candies on waxed paper and allow to dry until the chocolate is set.Store in an airtight container, but they usually don’t last long enough to have to store! Enjoy.
These look fantastic. Can’t wait to try them with the gkids. Their mom LOVES peanut butter and chocolate…maybe we’ll make her some for Valentine’s Day. Thanks for sharing. Come visit us too! http://cookingwnana.wordpress.com/
