Meatballs in Brown Gravy
This is a basic meatball recipe that can be used in a dish like this one, or in spaghetti and meatballs, or with a glaze for party meatballs. Meatballs are not hard to make and with the addition of a couple of jars of brown gravy (there’s no shame in that!) it’s a pretty quick fix.
Ingredients:
2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 eggs
1/2-3/4 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk
garlic salt
black pepper
1 pkg. wide egg noodles (or pasta of choice)
1-2 jars of brown gravy (I used 2 jars for this recipe, for fewer meatballs, use 1)
Combine first six ingredients and stir with spoon until well blended.
Shape into meatballs and place on rack over a pan to collect drippings. A broiler pan lined with foil works well and makes clean up very easy.
Place meat balls in a 350 degree oven and bake for about 30 minutes. Test for doneness with a meat thermometer if you’re unsure.
Remove meatballs from rack and place in a sauce pan. Pour the jars of gravy over the meatballs and heat to serving temperature, stirring to coat meatballs.
Serve over cooked egg noodles.
